La famille s’élargit
Suite à ma naissance en juillet 1973, Jean-François et Louise décident de déménager à Wavre (rue des Volontaires). On y est installés dans un petit duplex de 2 chambres, jouxtant une scierie.
Following my birth in July 1973, Jean-François and Louise decided to move to Wavre (rue des Volontaires). We are installed in a small 2 bedroom duplex, next to a sawmill.

Juste en face, se trouve le petit parc Houbotte où mes parents m’emmènent sonner la cloche Dongelbert de 1696, seule cloche du carillon de l’Eglise Saint-Jean Baptiste de Wavre épargnée par la rafle exécutée par l’occupant allemand en 1943.
Depuis la volée d’escalier, l’observation des trains circulant par la gare de Wavre me fascine. Nous vivrons dans ce duplex jusqu’en janvier 1977.
Just opposite is the small Houbotte park where my parents took me to ring the Dongelbert bell of 1696, the only bell in the carillon of the Saint-Jean Baptiste Church in Wavre spared by the round-up carried out by the German occupying forces in 1943.
From the flight of stairs, the observation of the trains running through Wavre station fascinates me. We lived in this duplex until January 1977.
